Healthy Fats
When it comes to adding in healthy fats on keto you will want to make sure you are picking the right healthy fats.
Here are the top 9 of my favorite healthy fats on keto:
Coconut Oil– High in natural saturated fats. Helps increase healthy cholesterol (HDL) and decrease the “bad” cholesterol (LDL), boosts the immune system, improves energy, aids in weight loss, improves skin issues.
Avocado– High in Omega 3, full of fiber, helps control appetites, helps absorb other nutrients, aids in digestions, boosts metabolism.
Nut Butters– (Peanut, Almond, or your favorite) Good source of protein, loaded with magnesium, iron, fiber, etc. Each butter has lots of its own benefits too!
Nuts – (Almonds, Cashews, Pecans, Walnuts, etc.) Again each nut has its own great benefits!
Butter & Ghee (grass-fed)- Gives you energy, boosts immunity, is rich in vitamins and minerals, helps regulate hormones.
Olive Oil– Helps in weight loss, slows down the aging process, reduces heart disease, boosts metabolism and digestion.
Dark Chocolate (80% or higher) – aids in weight loss, lowers cholesterol, improves brain function, reduces stress, rich in antioxidants.
Seeds (sunflower, flax, hemp, chia, pumpkin) – Same as the nut butter and nuts, each seed comes with its own great benefits.
Salmon – Full of Omega 3s, helps with heart health, improves skin, improvement in focus and memory,
*These are just some of the benefits of each item.
