This mug cake cooks in about 90 secs and is the perfect quick easy breakfast when you are craving something sweet. Then as a bonus, this mug cake has some amazing lactation benefits to help with your milk supply.
What keto foods are in the this mug cake that will help increase supply?
There are many keto foods that are a galactagogue, aka something that can help boost milk supply. Here are a few I included in this recipe:
- Flaxseed – flaxseed contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and phytoestrogens that can help with milk supply. Flaxseed is also nutrient-dense and full of omega 3 which also is so great while breastfeeding.
- Brewer’s Yeast – Brewer’s yeast is a superfood. It is packed with protein and is full of nutrients like iron, zinc, vitamin B, magnesium, and potassium. I recommend starting small with this one because it has a strong taste!
- Almond Flour – Almonds are full of healthy fats, protein, calcium, and other nutrients. They also have a potential estrogenic activity that can help with milk supply.
- Cinnamon – Cinnamon can help increase milk supply as well.
Keto Lactation Cinnamon Roll Mug Cake
This is a quick and easy breakfast or treat to help satisfy those breastfeeding cravings and help boost milk supply 🙌🏼
Ingredients
For The Cinnamon Roll:
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons almond flour
- 1 tablespoon flaxseed
- 1-2 tablespoon brown swerve (depending on how sweet you want it)
- 1/4 teaspoon brewers yeast
- 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg
For The Frosting
- • 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese
- • 1 tablespoon powdered swerve
- • a splash of vanilla
- • a splash of almond milk if needed
Instructions
- Spray mug with coconut oil spray
- Melt the 1 tablespoon butter for 30 seconds
- Add the rest of the ingredients to the mug and mix really good4)
- Sprinkle with sugar
- Microwave for 90 sec (or until fully cooked)
- While cooking the cake, mix together the frosting
- Top the cake with the frosting, then enjoy 😋
