KETO STRAWBERRY LACTATION SMOOTHIE
This keto strawberry lactation smoothie is the perfect way to help increase your milk supply while doing keto while breastfeeding.
I love lactation smoothies because they are a quick easy way to get in healthy fats, greens, and milk supply boosting ingredients.
What keto foods are in the this smoothie that will help increase supply?
There are many keto foods that are a galactagogue, aka something that can help boost milk supply. Here are a few I included in this recipe:
- Flaxseed – flaxseed contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and phytoestrogens that can help with milk supply. (2) Flaxseed is also nutrient-dense and full of omega 3 which also is so great while breastfeeding.
- Brewer’s Yeast – Brewer’s yeast is a superfood. It is packed with protein and is full of nutrients like iron, zinc, vitamin B, magnesium, and potassium. I recommend starting small with this one because it has a strong taste!
- MCT Oil – Many mamas wonder if MCT is safe while breastfeeding. Yes, it is! It’s a great way to boost your healthy fats and milk supply for the day. (3) Make sure to start slowly with MCT oil though, too much could cause digestive issues.
Keto Strawberry Lactation Smoothie
Ingredients
- strawberries (about 90g)
- 1 scoop keto vanilla protein powder
- 1 oz cream cheese
- 8 oz unsweetened almond milk
- 1 T MCT oil
- 1 T ground flaxseed
- 1 t brewers yeast
- slash of vanilla
- ice
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend! Then enjoy 😋

Other add-in options:
- Collagen – SO great for skin elasticity.
- Spinach – Such a great way to get in more greens for the day. This also helps with supply!
Want to make this recipe dairy-free? Keep out the cream cheese or replace it with Kite Hill cream cheese. Then also, replace the protein powder with a dairy-free option.

Do keto lactation recipes really work?
Yes, keto lactation recipes can really help with supply, if the recipes contain galactagogues aka foods that boost milk supply. Every mama is different though on what foods will work for them.
How Long will it take to for the latation recipes to work?
This varies greatly from mama to mama. Some mamas see an instant increase in supply but others need to wait a couple of days. But, what better way to test it out to see if it work for you than when this yummy keto smoothie.
Are protein powders safe to use while breastfeeding?
Yes, protein powders are safe while breastfeeding. However, make sure you are looking for protein powders with clean ingredients. There are so many protein powders that are full of crappy sweeteners and processed ingredients. (Especially, some of the “keto” ones.) So, make sure to check what sweeteners the protein powder has it is sweetened with and also what ingredients are added.
