Is doing keto on a budget possible?
Absolutely! As busy new mamas, I know we are always looking for ways to save a little money and doing keto on a budget is really important.
Here are some ways you can save money and do keto on a budget while still eating all the amazing keto foods:
#1) Stick to the Basics
Keto doesn’t have to be hard. Stick to the basic foods like eggs, cheese, butter, coconut oil, and your favorite greens.
There are TONS of ‘keto’ items out there now but you don’t have to buy any of them to start off with. Buying real whole foods is the best way to start.
#2) Shop You Store Weekly Ads
Each week, go through your store’s local ads. See what meats, healthy fats, and other favorite keto items are on sale that week. Then make a list and see what recipes you can make creating those items.
Remember tip #1, keep it basic.
#3) Buy Foods In Bulk
This one always costs you more upfront but buying in bulk is a great way to save money. Check out your local Costco or Sam’s Club ads and buy what they have on sale that week or month is an extra way to save.
My favorite items to buy in bulk are meats, Kerrygold butter, and keto baking items like almond flour and sweeteners.Â

#4) Shop at Stores Like Aldi's or Walmart
As Keto becomes more and more popular you can now find amazing keto items at places like Aldi’s and Walmart.Â
They also are offering more and more organic and grass-fed options at these stores for a great price.
#5) Use A Delivery or Pick Up Service
Now I know these services do cost money and the point of this post is all about saving money but hear me out.
What I love about using something like Walmart Pickup, InstaCart or Shipt is that you can put only what you need in the cart. So instead of going into a store and see all the new products, tempting treats, and non-keto products. You can skip seeing those all together and it helps you not to add whatever you want to your cart.Â
#6) Meal Plan and Batch Cook
Once you find your food items on sale, come up with a meal plan for the week. This way you won’t waste any of the foods you purchase.
Taking the time one day a week to batch cook also helps save you money. Having food on hand that is easy to grab is so helpful on those busy days during the week so you don’t have to order in or run through a drive-through.Â
#7) Amazon Prime
Amazon is also a great place where you can get deals on keto foods. Using the subscribe and save feature can save you up to 15% on some items.
