HOW TO STAY KETO OVER THE HOLIDAYS
how to stay keto during the holidays
This time of year I get asked quite a bit… “Can I really stay keto over the holidays?” and “What are your best tips?”
I wanted to make sure you feel empowered over the holiday season so check out the tips below.
Here are 4 easy tips to help you stay keto around the holidays:Â
TIP #1 - PLAN AHEAD
This one is huge! I know it might seem obvious but if you are going to a holiday gathering I always recommend asking the host what the main dish will be. That way you can plan what to bring yourself.
Now, I never want mamas to feel excluded, so I always recommend bringing keto dishes to share with everyone. Trust me, there are tons of recipes the whole family will love. (Even if they aren’t keto.)
So, if the main dish isn’t going to be keto, try to bring a side dish or your own mean dish to pass to help fill in the gaps. Then that leads us to tip #2.
Tip #2 - Create Keto Versions for your favorite Holiday recipes
Like I mentioned above, there are so many amazing keto recipes out there now. I always recommend finding a keto version of your favorite holiday recipes. For example, I am always drawn to sweets over the holiday so I will always bring a keto treat as well.

Tip #3 - don't focus on food
Doesn’t it seem like every gathering is always focused on food?
Well, tip #3 is to try to not focus so much on food this year. Instead, try to focus on connecting with friends and family. Try to focus on the conversations.
This can help so much with changing your mindset of what the holiday gatherings really mean.
Tip #4 - stay busy and move way from the food
I don’t know if your family is like mine but the main gathering place is around our kitchen island… where the food is…
So, tip #4 is try to move away from the food.
Invite the others to join you in the living room or another gather place that isn’t around the food. Out of sight out of mind… as the saying goes.
You still might be wondering... should I even stay keto over the holidays?
First of all, we all all human. This holiday season might not be 100% keto but these tips can definitely help.
I always like mamas I work with to focus on their goals and their WHY over the holiday season. Are you okay with having weight loss stalls? Are you okay with not having energy? Are you okay with not feeling your best? For some of you that’s okay but for others it might not be worth it. You need to do what works best for you and your body!Â
I hope you found this post on how to stay keto over the holidays helpful! Now it’s your turn, share your favorite tip below in the comments.
Merry Christmas and have a great holiday season!
